Quotation For The Week

I really like the movie “George Wallace” with Gary Sinise. The primary reason is because it glorifies the Old South – where I am from. In this scene, ex-Governor Fulsom is chastising Governor Wallace for having made a deal with the KKK to win the governor election. Fulsom believes this is what lead to the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, AL.

I do not know how much of the movie is fact nor fantasy; but I do know this: what you turn loose does come back to you. The Christian phrase is “you reap what you sow”. What I find interesting is that Fulsom and Wallace are men who might be Christians, but they live in a secular world with secular powers. A person can loose their way and forget where they are grounded. I guess what I am trying to say is that even an idiot knows that what you turn loose comes back to you – it does not matter who you are, everyone knows that.

That’s right George, just turn loose all them old dogs of hatred and violence and sooner or later they’re gonna turn on you. They’ll hit you. A mad dog don’t differentiate, George. You get devoured by what you yourself turn loose. Then what happens? – Movie George Wallace
