Saturday’s road football game between Rice and LA Tech has been postponed due to COVID-19 related issues within the Bulldogs’ program.
The schools were to have met for the eighth consecutive year and the schools will work with Conference USA to explore options to reschedule the game.

“I’m proud of how our team has kept themselves ready to compete, but as we continue to see, this is the reality of playing college football in a pandemic,” Rice Director of Athletics Joe Karlgaard said. “I know it’s frustrating for our student-athletes and coaches as well as for our fans, and I share your frustration. All we can do is prepare to play each week and hope that both teams are healthy enough to tee it up.”
The Owls are currently scheduled to travel to North Texas on November 21 and return home to face UTEP on November 28. The current schedule closes out with a road game at Marshall on December 5 and a final home game with UAB on December 12.
