Industrial VR/AR Forum Is Held In Houston

The Industrial VR/AR Forum was held in Houston, February 25 – 26, 2020, at the Westin Galleria Hotel.  This technology is definitely going to be a part of the future for the oil and gas industry and related industries.  What really caught my eye was how this technology is used for training and safety.

Here is a short list of items discussed at the Forum:

  • Wellsite planning with augmented reality
  • Digital Twins
  • Immersive technology in handling hazardous material
  • VR/AR training and education benefits
  • Scalable VR/AR training across the enterprise


I was also impressed with how digital twins are entering the world of VR/AR.  Since a twin is a digital representation of an existing asset, makes perfect sense that the twin can be used for training as relates to that asset.
