Day 2 of the ARC Industry Forum in Orland, Florida, February 3, concluded very well. Last year, I saw an great emphasis on digital twins. Although twins is still a hot topic, “integration” is also on people’s minds.

So many of the discussions that I have had some how come back around to project integration.  Energy companies want a one-size-fits-all solution, or a cradle-to-grave solution.  For instance, if you are designing an atmospheric crude unit. the plant wants to have everything in one place – simulation, P&IDs, PFDs, data sheets, schedule, purchase orders, etc.  Hexagon, AspenTech and others are moving in this directionIMG_1734

Do not get me wrong, the digital twin question will always be there; but emphasis on project integration is heating up, I believe.  Check out more photos below and the website:  https://www.arcweb.com/events/arc-industry-forum-orlando#agenda
