This video is a bit dated but I think still relevant.  It was recorded in the Fall of 2018 and published in Jan 2019.  Open automation has developed its own “newspeak”, and thus, some aspects of this video may be hard to comprehend.  Open Group does have a glossary on their website but I found the terms to be still very fuzzy and hard to understand.  Any comments on the video or how I can help make it more understandable are welcome.  The one take away that I think one can get from this video is that without open automation, one vendor can vertically integrate your process to his components, then turn down the screws with higher prices – because components from other vendors cannot be plugged into that control system.  Please enjoy the video below.
