The Industrial VR/AR Forum was held this week at the Omni Hotel Westside Houston, March 4, 2019.  What I got out of this event is that this type of technology has great potential in industry in 3 ways:  conference calls where all the participants can see the design being discussed on their computers simultaneously, safety and training walk-throughs where employees learn the layout of a design whether it is equipment or plant floor, loading engineering drawings and data into software thus building a virtual plant where design flaws are caught ahead of time.

Here are a few of the key topics discussed at the forum:

  • Cross-Industry VR/AR/Immersive Tech Best Practices
  • Advancing Business Operations & Training with Mixed Reality Solutions
  • Transforming Business & Remote Inspections with VR/AR/XR
  • The Future of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in Energy & Engineering
  • How to Craft & Implement a Successful VR/AR/XR Strategy
  • How Wearable Tech and Exoskeletons are Being Deployed in Industrial Facilities
  • State-of-the-Art VR/AR/XR and Mixed Reality Industry Information & Displays
