The Pipeline Pigging and Integrity Management Conference opened yesterday with a mixer. This event is being held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. The conference consists of both conference presentations and exhibition.
The technologies presented at this meeting are broad. For instance, pipeline pigs used for sensing defects in pipe, and those for cleaning, as well as simple pigs routinely used as a place holder for transferring fluids. Technologies for patching and repairing pipelines are exhibited. Software and data analytics are also big favorites. There is even a session for using machine learning to predict pipeline corrosion.
The conference runs until this Friday at noon. There is something for everyone, whether you are hands-on or high tech. Please join us. The event is organized by Clarion. Here is their website: http://www.clarion.org
