The Houston Section of ISA held its annual Oktoberfest event at Karbach Brewery, 2032 Karbach Street, Houston, TX 77092. The party is sponsored by TechStar, a local manufacturer’s representative for large firms like Yokogawa, Baker Hughes, and GE.
The event was fun and enjoyable in many ways. Free beer and food was provided. There were also two bands. The first a German polka band. The second band provided a type of old country rock sound. I asked the polka band to play “Under The Double Eagle” – I just love that song.
I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Gruhn aeSolutions – a system integrator. Paul is also the incoming ISA national chairman and his goal is to increase membership and industrial participation in ISA. Cheri Haarmeyer, current ISA-Houston president, was there too. Always good to see Cheri.
The next big ISA event in Houston is the Process Control and Safety Symposium 2018, October 29 – November 1, 2018, Westin Hotel Memorial City. This meeting is a national conference and is truly an international event. https://isaautomation.isa.org/2018-process-control-safety-symposium-and-exhibition/
