The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) holds its Conference and Exposition in Atlanta from October 8 – 11, 2017. At the exposition, Oran Safety Glass (OSG) launches its new product ScreeneX. ScreeneX is a sleekly designed, customizable screen that transforms bus, train and station windows and partitions into real-time digital displays.
OSG also announces that it is doubling the size of its Emporia, Virginia facility. David Yogev, vice president and managing director of OSG’s Transportation division states, “Today’s mass transit operators are focused on improving the aesthetics of their rail cars as well as the overall experience of their passengers, and ScreeneX accomplishes both objectives. We’re excited to show the industry that we’re doubling down on our commitment to U.S. manufacturing in order to deliver more innovations like ScreeneX to our customers in this market.”
One of the biggest, if not the biggest, contributors to green house gas emissions is transportation. Weight is critical now in all transportation industries to maximize energy efficiency, even down to the weight of the vehicle. ScreeneX is extremely low weight compared to traditional solutions, with glass panes that can be designed per customer requirement with a variety of print patterns, dimensions, shapes, and unique glass compositions. Since ScreeneX fits right into existing window slots, there is no need to add more weight with stand-alone displays.
